Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
This course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge you need to work as a supervisor/team leader cook or chef in a range of commercial kitchens. You will learn how to plan, prepare and cook food, producing dishes that are suitable for cultural and dietary requirements, food safety and kitchen hygiene, and working within workplace health and safety standards.
The Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is available in four TAFE Western Australia campuses - Bentley, Joondalup, Bunbury and Margaret River.
Duration: 1 semester (February and July intakes).
Certificate IV in Patisserie
This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to work effectively in a commercial kitchen to plan, prepare and bake cakes, tarts, petits fours, pastries, chocolates, sugar decorations, and showpieces. You will also learn about financial management, cleaning, first aid, food safety programs, hygiene, managing workplace conflict and workplace health and safety. On completion of this course, you will have the skills to work as a patissier or pastry chef in a patisserie, restaurant or hotel.
The Certificate IV in Patisserie is available in two TAFE Western Australia campuses - Bentley, Joondalup.

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
If your desire is to nurse injured animals, then the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing is the right course for you. Make a difference in the lives of furry, feathered and scaly animals by gaining the skills to be able to work effectively in a veterinary practice by providing care to these animals. You will learn all aspects of animal anatomy, biology and body systems so that you can provide specific animal care, treatment and advice when required.
You will participate in practical training at the veterinary clinic located on campus, assisting with animal surgery preparation and procedures, performing pathology, imaging and dental procedures are all part of the course as well as post-surgery care. You will also acquire an in-depth knowledge of animal nutrition as well as the skills to communicate with veterinarians, colleagues and pet owners. On completion of this course, you will also be able to perform office procedures and reception duties in order to run a successful animal clinic.
This course will definitely provide you with a rewarding career in the animal industry.

Certificate III in Carpentry
Do you enjoy working with wood and want to convert your hobby into a career? When you complete the Certificate III in Carpentry you will be able to work as a domestic or commercial carpenter. This practical, hands-on course will teach you how to use explosive power tools and carpentry tools to build structures such as pitched roofs, ceiling frames, eaves, wall frames, roof trusses and flooring systems
It covers techniques such as levelling operations, excavation, demolition of minor building structures, measurements and calculations, erecting and dismantling restricted scaffolding and setting out a project. You will also learn how to assemble partitions, construct bulkheads, build timber external stairs, construct, erect and dismantle formwork for stairs, ramps, footings, ground slabs, suspended slabs, columns, beams and walls. Installing and replacing windows, linings, panelling and moulding is also part of the course content along with how to interpret plans and understand the occupational health and safety requirements for the construction industry. You will also undertake a work placement as part of the course and gain industry experience.
The Certificate III in Carpentry is available at Balga and Rockingham campuses, both in the city of Perth.
