Certificate III in Hairdressing is an Australian trade level recognised worldwide. It is the minimum qualification required to practice Hairdressing in Australia. Tuition is through face-to-face lectures, practice on human hair mannequin heads and structured practical live model workshops.
There are 32 Units of Competence in the Certificate III in Hairdressing qualification and you will apply your new skills on clients in Taylorweir’s training salon. This practical training will give you the ability to perform consultations in a salon environment and learn how to work within the time frames expected in a commercial hairdressing salon.
Currently training 40% of all the hairdressing apprentices and trainees in Western Australia, Taylorweir enjoys an excellent reputation and close relationship with hairdressing salons in Western Australia and will assist you in work experience placements in some of Perth’s top salons.
As an international student you will have the opportunity to learn alongside and integrate with our local hairdressing apprentices, compete in hairdressing competitions, form friendships and experience the Australian lifestyle and culture of Perth.
Career opportunities for graduates include being employed as a hairdresser in a salon or sales representative for a hair product supplier, freelancing as a session stylist or becoming self-employed.
Many of our graduates have expanded their careers into areas of high fashion styling and are working in prestigious salons both in Australia and internationally.
Course details
Duration: 46 weeks
Course Fees: AU$19,500. Course fees are inclusive of tuition, learning manuals, mannequins, all consumable resources, use of an internet enabled lap top computer for course work and a communal printer while in class.

Intakes: January and July
English Language Requirements: Students for whom English is not their first language, minimum 5.5 IELTS (academic) or equivalent with no band score less than 5.5 or equivalent in speaking and listening.
Extras: Hairdressing equipment kit. Electrical equipment must comply with Australian standards
