Provide information and advice
Making sure you know what courses are available and which might suit you best is a key part of what we do. Regardless of what stage you’re at – whether you know nothing at all about studying in Australia or New Zealand, or have already done lots of research on your own – we’re here to help.
First, we have course lists for lots of subject areas. Each lists all the courses available in a particular area – hospitality management, for example, or beauty therapy – and gives the key details for each. These details will include what you’ll study on that course, what each will qualify you to do, what it costs in tuition fees per year, when it starts, and so on.
Once you’ve got your course list, please let us know if you’d like any help or advice deciding – we offer free guidance to help you choose which college and course is right for you. Representatives from Australian and New Zealand colleges visit our offices regularly, so you can also come in and speak to them about your options, or have a chat over the phone to get some advice.
Sorting out the paperwork
Once you’ve decided what to apply for, we’ll send you the application form, and a list of what else you need to send in. This is likely to include some, or all of the following: A copy of your passport, a CV, and copies of your school exam results as well as any professional qualifications that you hold.
Making an application
Once you are ready, send your application to the Study Options office in London. We will check it to make sure that everything is complete and correct before sending it to the college for assessment. We’ll make certified copies of any original documents you have included, and return the originals to you by secure delivery.
Getting an answer
We submit your applications electronically, so applying via Study Options is actually quicker than any other way (even online). As we are the official UK and Irish representative for Australian and New Zealand colleges, applications sent by our office are given priority, and you will get an answer more quickly than if you apply directly.
The practicalities
Study Options is your point of contact for the whole application process. You don’t need to worry about calling Australia or New Zealand to find out what’s going on – you can just call us in Bristol or London and we’ll sort out whatever it is for you. This is useful if you have an issue further along the line – for example, you need to change the start date of your course, or you’ve changed your mind about what you want to study. We can get in touch with the college for you to sort it out.
We guide you through each and every step of the process
From deciding where and what course to apply for and making applications to accepting a place, couriering key documents to Australia or New Zealand, help getting a student visa, sorting out accommodation and setting up a bank account in either country before you leave, we’re always here to help. If you have any questions, at any point, just call or email one of the team.
