Buildings are everywhere. Every building, whether it’s a house, shopping centre or a park shed, needs a skilled carpenter to help construct it and make sure it stands the test of time.
The building industry is constantly growing, so to meet the needs of this rapidly expanding sector, there is constant demand for qualified carpenters with real skills and experience.
Holmesglen is the most comprehensive provider of carpentry and building courses in Victoria. International students can launch their career into carpentry and construction starting with Holmesglen’s Certificate III in Carpentry at our Chadstone campus.
From Holmesglen’s state-of-the-art carpentry training facilities to our experienced teachers and industry connections, we’ll give you the hands on skills and technical expertise valued in this growing and dynamic sector.
Many of Holmesglen’s students also get the chance to experience real on-site work through projects with Parks Victoria, industry groups and various local communities.
In a most recent stage of the project, Holmesglen carpentry pre-apprenticeship students worked with Parks Victoria staff and the Department of Justice’s Community Correctional Services Southern Community Work Team to build a brand new bike shelter that was unveiled last month.
The Lysterfield Park bike track is used by 145,000 mountain bike riders every year and the new shelter will provide protection from the elements, information for visitors and an area for parents to supervise their kids.
The project provided a great opportunity for Holmesglen carpentry students to gain real on-site experience while helping and connecting with the local community.
