Study a Certificate III in Carpentry at TAFE Western Australia to develop the skills and knowledge you need to have a successful career as a Carpenter in the domestic housing industry or commercial construction area.
You will learn how to use carpentry tools, power tools and equipment, read and interpret plans, handle carpentry materials and construct pitched roof, ceiling frames and flooring systems. Carpentry formwork skills in preparation for concrete are also included. You will undertake work experience placements at various building sites.
Courses are delivered at specialist facilities across Perth, such as the Trades North campus in northern Perth which is a world-class custom built centre focused solely on trades training.
The certificate qualification will provide you with practical skills and industry training that gives you skills employers need. It can also provide pathways to further study at university.

Admission Requirements: Qualifications equivalent to an Australian year 10 pass in Maths. Students for whom English is not their first language, will need an IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0 or equivalent to gain entry to this course.
