During the course, you will study the geophysical and chemical formation of petroleum and the concepts of petroleum geology. You will learn about drilling operations, both onshore and offshore; concepts of downhole pressure conditions and formation mechanisms, and well control methodologies. The course also covers the environmental effects of engineering. The Advanced Diploma builds on a Diploma course (also offered at TAFE WA) and provides career opportunities in various areas of the oil and gas industry including Project Close Out Coordinator, Joint Venture Coordinator, Petroleum Technician, and FLNG Operator.
